Recognize racism is a sickness you alone cannot cure.

For all of the different races, ethnicities, and religions, the sad truth exists that there are many people who hate blindly.  If you are the victim of a racist or otherwise hateful act, do not blame yourself for someone else's sickness.

Think instead of what historian Pierre Berton said of racism: "Racism is a refuge for the ignorant.  It seeks to divide and to destroy.  It is the enemy of freedom, and deserves to be met head-on and stamped out."

counteract the racist and hateful acts you witness by becoming a splkesperson for peace, tolerance, and love.
